Wayne Rooney’s Second Hair Transplant

He shocked the UK in 2011 by Tweeting a picture of his hair transplant, and now he’s done it again – footballer Wayne Rooney has had a second ‘top up’ treatment.

Rooney underwent a nine-hour operation at London’s Harley Street Hair Clinic which is part of the £15,000 Wayne paid for the procedure two years ago.

A top-up is normal and would have focused on thickening the area around the first transplant.

Suitable candidates for hair transplant surgery are those who have lost hair, whether due to genetic factors, illness or stress. Hair follicles that are apparently resistant to the balding process are transplanted from the back and sides of the head and relocated to the balding scalp.
