Chanelle Hayes, the former Big Brother contestant-turned-lads mag favourite, has said cosmetic surgery has had a tremendously positive effect on her life.
The 24-year-old glamour model spoke out about her foray into artificial enhancement for the MTV programme, Get Thin or Die Tryin. She said that she only turned to cosmetic surgery after a number of intensive diets had not worked to rid her of some particular unwanted fat.
The young mother-of-one explained that the surgery itself was a God-send and that the minimal discomfort of it has been completely outweighed by the beneficial effects she now feels, both physically and mentally.
"I had these massive big fat pockets there [points to outer thighs] and there was just nothing I could do," Chanelle said during the programme. "I've tried the Dukan diet, Atkins diet, Weight Watchers diet, the cabbage soup diet. The negative calorie diet, colonics, I've tried slimming pills, slimming patches, I've tried slimming teas, I've had hypnotherapy, I've tried sitting in a rubber suit being vibrated. Yeah, that didn't work, that's just strange."
She said that eventually she thought about having it all "sucked out" and told the programme how she was put under a general anaesthetic "and woke up skinny".
Chanelle, who dated Middlesbrough football player Matthew Bates in 2009/10, even said that she was a firm fan of the surgery and would not hesitate to try other procedures if she felt she needed them.
"I know that it's all taboo and you're not really meant to be a fan of surgery but I am, so whatever, deal with it," she asserted. "And I've not regretted it since, not even in the slightest. If you wanna change your shape a little bit just get lipo in your problem areas and have done with it, don't make yourself unhappy."
She added that she knew she would never be 100 per cent happy with her body and that she knew when to say no to too radical work, but said her surgery so far has only succeeded in making her happier.
