Sky News reader, Kay Burley, has spoken openly about her facelift. Burley celebrated her 50th birthday by having the operation to look younger.
Burley is over the moon with the result and claims there was no pressure to erase her wrinkles and sagging jowls by the TV network. “People say, ‘It’s because you’re on the telly’. No, it’s because I’m a woman and I want to look nice,” she said. “If Mother Nature needs a helping hand, why not?”
The mum-of-one had an eyelift after turning 40 then treated herself to a lower facer and neck lift in June this year.
Burley admitted that the cosmetic surgery left her bruised and scarred in the days after the op: ‘It’s not painful at all, but when you look at yourself in the mirror, you think, “I’m never going to be me again”. Most patients find that after two-three weeks the swelling and bruising has gone, and Kay was back at work and presenting the news looking fresh faced after three weeks.
