One of the stars of this year's X Factor has announced that she knows exactly what she would splash her prize money on if she won – cosmetic surgery.
Sami Brookes, a card shop worker from Rhyl in North Wales, revealed that she had always wanted to have a tummy tuck and liposuction, but could not afford to pay for the procedure.
The 31-year old, who has been wowing the crowds on the ITV talent show with her rendition of Whitney Houston’s ballad ‘I Will Always Love You,' has already tried dieting in an attempt to slim down and tone up, but says that the surgical procedure is her ultimate goal.
Ms Brookes, who is currently a dress size 20, is especially keen on having a tummy tuck – a procedure in which loose skin around the stomach area is tightened and toned. It is often carried out following weight loss, when the skin has sagged around the abdomen area.
She spoke of her desperate desire to lose weight, telling The Sun newspaper, “I want to lose two stone but it's really tough. I've put on two pounds this week — don't tell Louis! I'm like a secret squirrel scoffing chocolates all the time.
"I'd like Louis to get me a bikini because I forgot mine and it means I can't use the pool. Swimming helps you lose weight. I've been going in wearing leggings, which isn't very good,” she added.
However, it looks as if the wannabe pop star may have to find another way of financing the cosmetic surgical procedures she dreams of – Paddypower.com is currently listing Ms Brookes as 2/1 favourite to be voted off The X Factor on this coming Saturday's show.
