The Nations Most Hated Tattoos

tattoo removalA new survey has revealed that the UKs most unpopular tattoo is the name of a partner or loved one.

2,000 men and women in the UK were surveyed by Syneron-Candela who asked what consumers regretted about their tattoos. 39 per cent confessed they regret getting them done. So much so that 12 per cent of women and 8 per cent of men have already had a tattoo removed and a quarter of respondents said they had thought of having theirs removed.

Tattoos in the name of love were seen as a no-go, and 8 per cent of the adults polled have admitted to having names of their partners tattooed onto their body and 73 per cent say they’ve tried to hide or remove a tattoo of an ex-partners name.

In fact, partner’s names were cited as the most regrettable choice of tattoo (61{19761799e1353b7a6a49a5f02d3172230495afcde52b198895f8f3ba7ac759cb}), followed by those done as part of a joke or dare (38{19761799e1353b7a6a49a5f02d3172230495afcde52b198895f8f3ba7ac759cb}), places you can’t hide like the hands and face (36{19761799e1353b7a6a49a5f02d3172230495afcde52b198895f8f3ba7ac759cb}), large scale features (34{19761799e1353b7a6a49a5f02d3172230495afcde52b198895f8f3ba7ac759cb}), or tributes to bands or celebrities (30{19761799e1353b7a6a49a5f02d3172230495afcde52b198895f8f3ba7ac759cb}).
