New figures from the British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons (www.baaps.org.uk) reveal that the number of cosmetic ops last year decreased 9{19761799e1353b7a6a49a5f02d3172230495afcde52b198895f8f3ba7ac759cb} overall since 2013, with some procedures falling considerably more out of favour than others.
Baaps are the only professional organisation solely dedicated to safety and education in cosmetic surgery, and which represents the vast majority of NHS-trained consultant plastic surgeons in private practice so the figures are an accurate representation of trends in the industry.
Female numbers decreased by 9{19761799e1353b7a6a49a5f02d3172230495afcde52b198895f8f3ba7ac759cb} overall, although surgical liposuction for women increased in popularity by a considerable 10{19761799e1353b7a6a49a5f02d3172230495afcde52b198895f8f3ba7ac759cb}, while male figures decreasing by 15{19761799e1353b7a6a49a5f02d3172230495afcde52b198895f8f3ba7ac759cb} overall. Nose jobs, which were last year’s most popular procedure for men, plummeted by as much as 30{19761799e1353b7a6a49a5f02d3172230495afcde52b198895f8f3ba7ac759cb} and even ‘moob’ reduction has sagged by 10{19761799e1353b7a6a49a5f02d3172230495afcde52b198895f8f3ba7ac759cb}.
