January is the traditional month to make resolutions and find things in life to improve and change. No where better does this apply than cosmetic surgery and the plans we make for changing how we look.
So what are the trends in 2014 in cosmetic surgery? What procedures will be popular and what will your surgeon or aesthetic practitioner be raving about this year?
‘Bingo Wing’ Solutions
Bingo Wing surgery – or Brachioplasty – is the removal of that excess, droopy skin from the upper arms – usually called ‘bingo wings’. The operation will give you tighter and more toned arms. Older women are increasing seeking a solution to this problem and surgery figures will increase in 2014 for sure.
Designer Vagina
It was an emerging trend in 2013 and now the ‘designer vagina’ – or labiaplasty and vaginoplasty – will hit the mainstream in 2014. The operation will reduce the size and/or reshape, the labia minora, while vaginoplasty ‘tightens’ the vagina, a procedure that is particularly popular among women who have given birth.
The Non-Surgical Face-Lift
Until recently the most permanent solution for looking younger was a surgical facelift. However, advances in non invasive or minimally invasive procedures in this field have come a long way. Practitioners often combine dermal fillers, Botox and chemical facial peels to create a ‘non surgical facelift’.
Fat Dissolving
A new treatment for fat loss will become more mainstream in 2014. AQUALYX™ is a fat dissolving injection which works to make the body digest excess fat in the body. The active substance locks on to the fat cell walls and starts to operate, resulting in the cell wall becoming instable and releasing the fatty acid that is stored within. Cell residue is removed by the body’s defences and the non-attached fatty acids are metabolised and converted into energy. How many treatments you require varies according to the desired degree of amendment, the dimensions of the fat deposit and the individual reactions of the fat tissue.
