Calum Best is the latest in a long line of high profile celebrities who have confessed to having a hair transplant. Best had 1,850 hairs transplanted from the side of his scalp to the front of his head by Dr Asim Shahmala – the top surgeon from Channel 4’s ‘Embarrassing Bodies’.
The son of the legendary footballer George Best, who began to go bald at 23, said: “You drop your head to look at your phone and you are thinking all the time: “Are they looking at my bald spot?”
He is the latest in a line of celebrities who have chosen to undergo hair transplants to stop their receding hair lines.
Manchester United’s Wayne Rooney had a transplant at the age of 25 and two years on now has a much improved hairline.
Louis Walsh had hair plugs because “with TV today, everything is in high definition and people notice every little thing.”
Then TV chef Gordon Ramsay spent over £30,000 on a hair transplant and appeared in all the tabliods with a puffy face immediately after the op.
