Would Your Bloke Lose His Hair For You?

Blokes hate losing their hair … on their head, that is. However, when it comes to hair on other parts of their body more and more men are waxing and having laser hair removal. Men’s Health has reported that 69{19761799e1353b7a6a49a5f02d3172230495afcde52b198895f8f3ba7ac759cb} of people feel more confident when they remove body hair, and men are no exception.

Men have come a long way since the days of showing up to work in an unbuttoned shirt that revealed an army of hair fighting its way past the nape of their necks. The trend has also been fuelled by television. Shows such as The Only Way Is Essex extol the beauty of their smooth-skinned male stars, such as Mark Wright.

So ladies – can you imagine a time when you and your man will go and get bikini waxes together?

The growing trend is actually for male (and female) laser hair removal. Whilst most Laser Hair Removal is targeted at women, there are many men who are not happy with hair on their bodies.

Many laser hair removal clinics now happily treat men and women. Clinic owner, Natalie Meek says: “These days men are much more conscious of their appearance, they are far more likely to do something about excessive hair than in the past, laser hair removal can offer a more permanent solution to help with confidence issues” she added “we have seen an increase in the number of men who come for treatments, we are in a private setting away from the High Street, where clients can rely on discreet and professional care”.

What do the men themselves think of the treatment? “Most report that the treatments themselves are not as painful as expected,” says Meek. “Cold air is blown onto the skin when the laser pulse is delivered to minimise discomfort.  Before treatment, clients go through a free consultation and a test patch to ensure they are suitable for treatment.”

Another issue for men and their hair is when it starts to appear on the backs. Men who don’t like the Grizzly Bear look often find shaving, waxing or using hair removal creams leaves rashes or spots. The lasers also help to eliminate in growing hairs which can cause large infected spots to appear on hair prone areas.

So, next time your bloke panics about the hairs growing on his shoulders or complains that the hair on his abdomen covers his 6-pack, you know what to do, right?
