The British Association of Cosmetic Nurses (BACN) will hold its 3rd Annual Conference at IET London, 2 Savoy Place, London WC2, on Saturday 6th October. The BACN welcomes members and non-members and the event is open to anyone interested in the aesthetics field.
Established two years ago, the BACN now has a membership of over 350 and as the popularity of anti-ageing injectables and other medical skin treatments continues to grow, so does the strength of the BACN. All members are also registered with the Nursing & Midwifery Council (NMC).
BACN research has revealed that 70{19761799e1353b7a6a49a5f02d3172230495afcde52b198895f8f3ba7ac759cb} of injectable treatments in the UK are administered by nurses – a statistic that confirms the vital role that nurses play in the aesthetics field.
Among the speakers at this year’s BACN Conference will be dermatologist Lance Setterfield, presenting on Medical Needling; vascular specialist, Haroun Gajraj, on sclerotherapy and plastic surgeons Dalvi Humzah and Chris Inglefield speaking on Pain Management and The Psychological Approach, respectively. Other topics will include Carboxytherapy and Skin Tightening, presented by BACN members Lou Sommereux and Marea Brennan-Thorns.
The BACN is actively involved in driving through regulation in the aesthetics field and one of its Board Members sits on the British Standards Institution committee CH403 Aesthetics Surgery Services, which is co-ordinating pan-European proposals with CEN, the EU regulatory body. In addition, several BACN Board Members represent the Association on other prominent organisations in the aesthetics field – including the Independent Healthcare Advisory Services which operate Treatments You Can Trust, a register of injectable providers for the general public.
