X Factor judge Simon Cowell is trying to fight the signs of ageing by taking blasts from a can of oxygen!
It’s no secret that Cowell is paranoid about his advancing years and has frequently spoken about his love of Botox. However, the moguls recent fad is managing to raise a few eye brows in L.A.
he is so convinced of the anti-ageing effects of inhaling pure oxygen that he has been offering it to his fellow judges on Britain’s Got Talent, as well as hosts Ant and Dec.
Last night a source on the ITV1 show said: ‘Ant and Dec and the other judges were trying it.
They all seemed to like it and Alesha [Dixon] was the only one who didn’t fancy it. It’s not much bigger than a can of Pepsi and you can just breathe from it.’
The oxygen bottles, which cost around £10, claim to reduce tiredness, stress and the skin-ageing process. Cowell is also thought to be using them to help replace his smoking habit.
The idea for selling a more pure oxygen to consumers who wish to revive their spirits isn’t exactly a new one. Several years ago, trendy nightclubs began offering “oxygen bars” which allowed patrons access to fresh oxygen via a breathing tube. Customers pay for a five minute session or so, in which they are able to relax and breathe the clean air.
It is believed that a brief blast of pure oxygen allows you flush some of the impurities from your body, clear your mind, and eliminate some of that sluggish feeling that many of us have.
Most oxygen canister manufacturers believe that inhaling can:
- Increase performance in sport by up to 25{19761799e1353b7a6a49a5f02d3172230495afcde52b198895f8f3ba7ac759cb}
- Arm the immune system, speedier rehabilitation and healing of wounds
- Improve mental fitness
- Delay the cell ageing process and improve concentration
- Make breathing eased in summer during spells of high ozone levels and heat
- Provide new energy when tired
- Give relief in poorly ventilated rooms
