Many people are hoping to find a certain something under the tree this year – a cosmetic surgery procedure.
Cosmetic surgeons located in one of the surgery hotspots of the world – Orange County, California – told the ABC television network that there has been a marked rise in the number of people booking in for, or planning to book in for, procedures over the festive season.
Amongst the most popular treatments are botox, dermal fillers, breast augmentations, liposuction and tummy tucks as people strive to look their very best for the Christmas party season.
One such customer, Orange County resident Tina Franklin, told ABC News that she had asked for botox for Christmas as she wanted to head into the New Year 'feeling fresh.'
Bridal make-up artist Ms Franklin told the news provider, “Living in Orange County, the mecca of plastic surgery, you definitely want to do procedures, including Botox, to soften but not freeze.”
She cited her 'trouble areas' as being the crow's feet around the corners of her eyes, wrinkle and fine lines between her eyes and frown lines on her forehead – all of which she was keen to minimise the appearance of through using botox.
She also cited a recent break-up with a boyfriend as a reason behind her decision to have botox, as she wanted to boost her confidence.
Ms Franklin told the news provider, “Living in Orange County, the mecca of plastic surgery, you definitely want to do procedures, including Botox, to soften but not freeze.” Luckily for Ms Franklin, her elder sister Nicole Tuzzolino played Santa and bought the non-invasive cosmetic procedure for her for Christmas.
Dr Tenley Lawton, who carried out the botox injections on Ms Franklin, told ABC News that many women were booking in for procedures in order to enjoy a 'Mommy Makeover,' over the Christmas period, as they sought to regain the looks and the figure they had before they became mothers.
