American singer and actress Kristin Chenoweth has celebrated the use of botox for treating severe headaches, saying that it has changed her life.
Botox – which is commonly used for reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles on the face – has also become known for the treatment of migraines and excessive sweating.
Chenoweth recently told Prevention magazine, “I get Botox regularly, and I'm very happy to talk about why. When I was thirty-five, I was having debilitating migraines about once a week. I went to my doctor in New York, and she said she wanted to give me five shots of Botox across my eyebrows.”
“I haven't had a full-blown headache since. Every six months, five shots right here [motions across her eyebrows]. I'm thankful for it,” she added.
Botox has recently been approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to treat other disorder such as uncontrolled blinking – which is known as blepharospasm, muscle spasms in the neck – known as cervical dystonia – and lazy eye – otherwise known as strabismus.
Chenoweth began her television career with her own TV series Kristin in 2001, and has also appeared as a guest star in many other popular shows, including Glee and Sesame Street. The actress has also appeared in several films, including the 2005 hit ‘Bewitched,’ and 2006’s ‘The Pink Panther.’
As well as appearing in various stage productions on Broadway, Chenoweth also wrote a memoir, ‘A Little Bit Wicked: Life, Love, and Faith in Stages,’ in 2009.
