Great-grandmother proves it’s never too late for cosmetic surgery boost

An 84-year-old great-grandmother has become the oldest woman in the world to have breast implants, proving that it's never too late to boost your appearance and confidence.

Marie Kolstad, from Santa Ana, California, decided to undergo breast implants to take her from a bust size 36B to 38D. She also had a breast lift at the same time, and now says that she has never felt better about the way she looks. Ms Kolstad, who lost her husband Norman to cancer in 1992, is now keen to meet a new partner and feels that her life has been vastly improved following the cosmetic surgery procedure.

She told the Daily Mail newspaper, “I would love to find a new man. But all the men my age want women 20 years younger. I thought I'd better take action so I can compete.

“I want someone successful but not because I want wealth. I just want someone who can stand on his own two feet and not need looking after. The boob job will help me because it's made me feel good about myself. People say I look 20 years younger. My girlfriends are all asking me about it and wondering how it feels,” added Ms Kolstad.

The former fashion worker – who has 12 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren and still has a job working as a property manager – has now also found the confidence to pose for a series of photographs in a swimming costume, and has opened a new account on social networking site Facebook, where she has posted the images to much praise from friends.

“If I wasn't already in great health I wouldn't have done it. Why shouldn't I look as good as I feel?” she added.
