Wrinkle treatment a top priority for women across the globe

Fighting the signs of ageing is one of the top priorities for women all over the world, and cosmetic surgery procedures aimed at combating wrinkles are more popular than ever.

New research from Australian-based cosmetic medical treatment group Renaissance Clinics has revealed that women are opting for anti-wrinkle treatments above any other procedure.

Botox was the number one procedure chosen, with 64 per cent of women saying that it was their preferred treatment, whilst dermal fillers that add firmness and plumpness to the skin came in as the second most popular option, with 26 per cent of women.

The research also found that ongoing skin treatments were important to women, with 62.8 per cent reporting that they thought regular treatments and advice was crucial, rather than simply booking a one-off appointment with no follow-up.

Between two and four appointments, spread across the course of a year, was the most popular option, with 60.7 per cent of women choosing that time frame.

The customers believed that regular cosmetic treatments were the best way to ensure that their skin looked and felt its best for longer.

Founder of Renaissance Clinics, Dr Albert Ho, said, “The survey showed us that for all age groups in this volatile global economy, patients are prepared to look after themselves and their skin, but price does matter as people are cutting back on discretionary spending and credit card usage in the global financial crisis; and living within their means while still looking after themselves.

“Many customers are informed consumers who are not just experimenting with cosmetic medical procedures, they have done their homework and know what they want,” added Dr Ho.
