Woman sells home to pay for cosmetic surgery

So keen was one woman to achieve the body of her dreams that she sold her house to pay for the cosmetic surgery procedures.

Jayne Fenney had lost a whopping 11 stone in weight but remained extremely unhappy about her physical appearance thanks to the excess skin she was left with following the dramatic weight loss.

The 50-year-old decided to invest in cosmetic surgery in order to improve her appearance and in turn her confidence. Her surgery wish-list included an armlift, breast uplift, thigh lift and full body lift, which was estimated to cost around £30,000.

As Ms Fenney did not have the money to hand to pay for the procedures, she decided, such was her desire to have the work done, to sell her house in order to fund it.

Her three-bedroom semi-detached property – which was located in Rochester, Kent – sold for £120,000, according to the Daily Mail newspaper, and she has now downsized to a £75,000 mobile home.

She told the newspaper, “It may seem like a drastic decision but it was the best thing I ever did. I’ve swapped bricks and mortar for the body that I’ve always wanted and I don’t regret a single penny of it. Feeling great is worth ten houses.”

Ms Fenney said that she had always struggled with her weight, even as a child. “I was teased at school and got called 'weeble' and 'treetrunk legs," she said.

When Ms Fenney's weight spiralled to 21 stone, she knew that the time had come to take drastic action. She lost four stone through switching to a healthier diet, but was horrified with the excess skin she was left with.

“With clothes on I looked fine, but I had the body of a 90-year-old woman underneath. My skin had stretched so much that I just looked like a deflated balloon. I can now wear a bikini for the first time.

I’ve bought lots to show off my new figure and I’ve got so much more confidence. don’t cover up with a beach towel any more – I’m proud to show off my new body,” she added.
