Surgeon explains how to achieve natural look with labiaplasty

The recent Annual Congress for Aesthetic Surgery saw more than 1,000 cosmetic surgery experts come together to discuss all aspects of surgery, focusing on how best to achieve a natural look through procedures.

One expert, cosmetic gynaecology specialist Dr Mark Scheinberg, spoke to the audience at the Milan-based conference about the importance of tailoring procedures such as labiaplasty – the reduction of the size of the labia at the vaginal entrance – to the specific needs of the client.

He referenced the complex processes involved in this type of procedure – which is fast becoming one of the most popular amongst customers, with even those who are deemed to have 'average-sized labia minora' seeking the procedure.

The conference also saw the very latest techniques and developments within the cosmetic surgery world be discussed.

Florida-based Dr Scheinberg told the audience, “A lot of cosmetic gynaecologists perform one type of labiaplasty, called aesthetic labia amputation. Our surgical procedures are performed to coordinate with the surrounding tissues."

Dr Scheinberg also went on to highlight the importance of using the surrounding tissue in order to achieve the most ‘natural look’ possible.

Recent research published in the British Journal of Obstetrics and Gynaecology revealed that labiaplasty is soaring in popularity all over the world.

The UK's National Health Service revealed that the number of procedures have increased five-fold over the last decade in this country, and Time magazine also reported a rise in the number of US-based ladies seeking genital cosmetic surgery.
