Put the smile back on your face with cosmetic dentistry

The number of people turning to cosmetic dentistry in a bid to improve their confidence is on the rise across the UK.

An impressive set of straight, white teeth has become of huge importance to many – partly due to the abundance of pearly gnashers on show in Hollywood making people increasingly image-conscious.

Many people feel self-conscious for years about their teeth and are reluctant to smile in case others notice their poor teeth. Cosmetic dentistry procedures can change all that, offering a range of procedures ranging from teeth whitening to straightening.

According to Harley Street Smile Clinic's Jill Haldane, “A lot of patients have not smiled for a long time and the confidence these people gain from the dentistry is priceless – many wish they had done it sooner.

“They come in, they can get their teeth done and it is like a new person you see six months later – they are smiling, they are happy,” she added.

Ms Haldane went on to say that she believes many people would far rather splash out on a cosmetic dentistry procedure which would allow them to smile with confidence than buy a new car or other status symbol.

Some of the most popular cosmetic dentistry procedures chosen by patients include minimising the gaps between teeth, changing the colour of teeth to make them whiter and brighter and straightening wonky or overlapping teeth.

Dentistry experts always advise visiting a dentist for a check-up on a regular basis, as well as visiting a dental hygienist once every six months in order to ensure that their teeth are looking and feeling healthy.
