Nouveau Beauty Group Profile Page

Karen Betts, director of the Nouveau Beauty Group, is the UK’s leading permanent cosmetics artist and medical tattoo practitioner. With many worldwide celebrity clients and over 20 years’ experience in the cosmetic tattooing industry she has an unrivalled reputation as the supreme artist and trainer in this field.

Having spent over twenty years honing and perfecting her profession, Karen is highly regarded by both industry insiders and her rapidly expanding celebrity clientele. She is also the medical tattooing consultant at the Princess Grace Breast Cancer Care Hospital. In addition, she is one of the few elite artists in the UK that is recognised by the Society of Permanent Cosmetics in the USA and is the permanent cosmetics consultant for the BBC and SKY.

Karen has a genuine passion for using her skills to better the lives of others, as seen by her recent collaborations with both The Katie Piper Foundation and breast cancer charity The Haven. Through these affiliations, Karen has put her skills to good use by helping those who have suffered from facial disfigurements or are in need of areola and nipple reconstruction following cancer treatment.

Having started her career by training as both a hairdresser and a beauty therapist, Karen discovered permanent cosmetics and went to train in the USA. Since then, Karen has continued to build on this strong foundation and has spearheaded many of the technical and product developments which have seen permanent cosmetics progress so much in recent years.

In 2001 Nouveau Contour was launched and Karen began training and supplying like-minded professionals in the art of permanent cosmetics. It was during this time that she met Bridgette Softly and Nilam Patel, both of whom are now Karen’s business partners. These strong partnerships have been instrumental in the growth of the Nouveau Beauty Group training academies.
