Dr Paul Tipton
Biography
Dr. Paul Tipton is highly respected specialist in Prosthodontics, the specialism that involves fixed restoration and treatment planning of replacement teeth with crowns, veneers, implants, bridges or dentures.
He is the author of many technical articles for the dental press and is an expert lecturer in his field both worldwide and at his Tipton Training academies in London, Manchester, Edinburgh and Dublin.
After securing an MSc in Conservative Dentistry in 1989, he was awarded a Diploma in General Dental Practice by the Royal College of Surgeons four years later. In 1999, the General Dental Council awarded him a specialist status in Prosthodontics. He is now President of the British Academy of Implant Dentistry.
As well as practicing in London, Liverpool and Edinburgh, Dr. Tipton also finds the time to be one of the UK’s most successful dental teachers in the fields of restorative, cosmetic and implant dentistry. Over the last 20 years he has trained more than 2000 dentists who have completed a year-long certificate course at Tipton Training academies. He also teaches his skills to other dentists around the world.
This year he was recognised as one of the top ten most influential dentistry figures in the UK in Dentistry magazine’s prestigious ‘Top 50’ poll. Currently on the editorial board of Private Dentistry magazine, Dr. Tipton writes a series of clinical articles for its readers as well as another series for Ireland’s Dental Magazine. He was also a founding member of the British Academy of Restorative Dentistry and the British Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, where he was on the board of directors for both.
