SkinMedica TNS – TISSUE NUTRIENT SOLUTION
Tissue Nutrient Solution (TNS) is a SkinMedica’ patented formula containing 93.2 % NouriCel-MD™. This cocktail of growth factors derived from a single cell extraction from skin cells will improve skin texture, reduce age spots and blotchiness and improve skin elasticity. This aqueous gel formulation is suitable for all skin types, is surfactant free, alcohol free, oil free and non-comedeogenic.
NouriCel-MD™ is an unparalleled physiological combination of elements that are found naturally in the skin. The cell banks used for NouriCel-MD™ (the key ingredient in SkinMedica’s TNS Cosmeceutical product range) is already used in TransCyte TM and Cosmoderm Cosmoplast (Human Collagen) a dermal filler marketed by Allergan – both FDA approved. The method for manufacturing NouriCel-MD™ is protected by several patents and is based on advanced tissue engineering technology for growing human cells three-dimensionally into living tissue. The method provides a highly efficient production process to maximise the yield of Growth Factors. Growth factors are collected over an extended period of time (several weeks) to ensure all relevant proteins are present in the product.
Over time the body loses the ability to complete the healing process, resulting in up to 20% reduction in collagen. Excessive Type 3 Collagen is then produced resulting in loss of stored antioxidants and loss of skin elasticity. With continual sun exposure, our bodies do not have a sufficient amount of growth factors and cytokines to complete the healing process. Applying topical growth factors and cytokines assists the skin in completing the remodeling process.
