Risks and Complications

Because hyaluronic acid is highly biocompatible there is virtually no risk of you having a reaction to the product.

You may be a little bit bruised or swollen after your treatment but this should go down after a couple of days.

The area that has been treated may also feel a little bit tender for a couple of days. You may get a small scar where the incision has been made but as the incision is so tiny this should be barely visible. Most people do not get permanent scarring and any scars should fade gradually over time.

One possible risk of injectable body contouring treatment is infection. To minimise the chances of this occurring, your practitioner will usually prescribe a course of antibiotics for a couple of day after treatment. Make sure you take these as instructed. Symptoms of infection can include bleeding, increased pain or severe tenderness, fever, redness, and prolonged swelling. Contact your treating physician if you notice any of these.

To avoid any risks or complications, make sure you carefully follow the post treatment advice given to you by your doctor or surgeon.
