Recovery
Immediately after the dermabrasion procedure your face will be red and swollen and you will feel some tingling, burning, or aching. Eating and talking will be difficult.
A scab or crust will form over the treated area as it begins to heal and this will fall off as a new layer of tighter, pinker skin forms underneath. Your face may itch as the new skin begins to grow. The pinkness will take about three months to fully fade.
Dermabrasion recovery times are normally around two weeks but it can take a couple of months to completely recover. You should be able to go back to work two to three weeks after your dermabrasion treatment, though more strenuous activities may need to be postponed for four to six weeks. Wear sunscreen when outside for at least six months.
