Am I a Candidate?
More than 85% of women suffer from cellulite so nearly half of the population could benefit from cellulite treatment. Cellulite usually appears as ‘dimples’ on your buttocks, legs and thighs, which gives a ‘cottage cheese’ effect. For some people it is only visible when they tense or put pressure on the areas and for others it is visible all the time.
If you want to improve the appearance of cellulite and reduce girth in the thighs, hips, buttocks, abdomen or upper arms or want to contour and smooth out unwanted bumps, bulges and localised fatty areas then you could be a candidate for cellulite treatments. The ideal candidate for cellulite treatment should be generally fit and healthy, within a healthy weight range and have realistic expectations of what can be achieved.
No cellulite treatment is a miracle cure so be aware that you may only achieve a reduction in the appearance of your cellulite temporarily and may have to have repeat treatments to maintain your results. There are very few contraindications to cellulite treatment such as Endermologie and VelaSmooth, however, as with any type of cosmetic treatment, pregnant women are not advised to undergo treatment until after they have given birth. People suffering from cancer and those with heart disease are also advised to avoid treatment. Treatment with VelaSmooth is also not advisable for those with scarring or infection around the treatment area, people with a pacemaker ?tted, people prone to blood clots and su?erers of diabetes (Type I or II) or photosensitivity. It is also inadvisable for people taking photosensitising drugs and agents for known anticoagulative or thromboembolic conditions, or who use non-steroidal anti-in?ammatory drugs, or have taken aspirin two weeks prior to treatment. Those with a BMI of over 30 may also not be suitable.
