Recovery
Your downtime and recovery period will depend on the treatment you are having done and the extent of damage to your skin.
ReCell
After the operation the treated area and biopsy site will be covered with a dressing. The area will initially be numb but may sting soon after the operation. This is normal and you are usually allowed to take medication to reduce any discomfort. After about a week (depending on the reason why you had ReCell) the dressing will be removed by your doctor or clinic nurse. The skin will be red and there may be some scabs. This is normal. Your doctor will give you advice concerning what creams you are allowed to use, how much you can expose the treated area to the sun and what you should expect after the treatment. If you have had the treatment to reintroduce pigment (e.g. Vitiligo), the re-pigmentation will occur slowly over several months as the cells grow, mature and start to produce pigment (melanin). Your surgeon will be able to advise you about how long it will take for re-pigmentation to occur. The results following surgery with ReCell is highly dependant on the reason for undergoing the treatment, the severity of your infliction and the nature of your body to recuperate after an operation. It is normal for the pigmentation to take some time to reach its optimum state. Your surgeon will be able to give you some indication of how long it will take in your case.
Vavelta
Recovery from treatment should be fairly rapid and you should not have any significant downtime. You may have some swelling and redness and may experience some pain and discomfort. Other side effects may include itching and tenderness at the injection site. You may also get discoloration of the skin for a few days. Any side effects experienced should not prevent you from resuming normal activities straight after treatment.
MyCells
Immediately following treatment with MyCells you may experience some redness, swelling, pain, bruising in the treatment area. These side effects should be minimal and disappear in a few hours to days. You may notice an immediate effect after your first treatment but this is usually due to the swelling caused by the watery ingredients of your plasma. In a few days, when the swelling goes down and the water is absorbed by your body so be prepared that you may look as you did before your treatment. MyCells takes time to gradually correct the depression in your skin. Your healthcare provider will see you again in a few weeks to decide if you need more injections. To ensure your recovery from cell therapy treatment goes smoothly, make sure you follow the post treatment instructions given to you by your practitioner very carefully. You should particularly avoid scratching or rubbing the area.
