Should I be Using Sun Protection?
Everybody no matter how old or young should be wearing an SPF sunscreen of at least 15 every day, even when it is grey and cloudy outside. The damaging UVA and UVB rays, which cause skin cancer and premature ageing can penetrate cloud and glass so the only way to protect yourself is to make using an SPF part of your everyday routine. If you do nothing else in your skincare regime, wearing sun protection will have a dramatic effect on how you age, but more importantly can protect you from skin cancer. The strength of the SPF you need will depend on how quickly you burn. See our section on Choosing a Sun Screen for advice.
