Excellent as a stand-alone procedure for the neck and brow or as a complement to a facelift, the iGuide® can be utilized to perform less invasive procedures for patients of all ages. Even men, who typically have more muscle in the neck area, can achieve a more youthful appearance thanks to iGuide®.
The iGuide® technology allows younger patients with good skin elasticity a minimally invasive solution to improve genetically-acquired neck contours, with minimal to no scarring, and can usually be performed under local anesthesia.
iGuide® is the minimally invasive technology that gives you maximum results
iGuide® is the new minimally invasive surgical procedure for neck lifts, as featured in The Daily Mail (31st January 2011). iGuide® allows the trained surgeon to perform a Trampoline Platysmaplasty (lifting of the neck or neck lift), with minimal scars, under local and minimal downtime. This type of procedure would normally require an open incision, general anaesthetic and a lengthy recovery time.
Over the past twenty years, surgery for the ageing face has changed with surgical advanced and to reflex the patients desires for minimal scars and quicker recovery time.
iGuide® kit and technique is the brain child of leading Beverly Hills plastic surgeon, Dr Greg Mueller MD. After many years of performing open neck lift operations, Greg discovered the strength of the supporting ligament structures that connect the overlying skin and dermis to the platsyma muscle layer below.
Using a specially designed fibre-optic lighted suture rod, the iGuide® kit allows a suture to be laced around the neck, like a shoe-lace, supported by the ligament structures to lift and re-define the over lying skin. The iGuide® suture also acts as a support for the platsyma muscle, lifting and holding in place – addressing both the skin and dermis and the deeper structures.
Unlike the barbed sutures, which have been used with limited effect, to pull up skin and dermis, against the ageing effects of gravity, iGuide® is designed to lift, hold and support the anatomical structures.
For the first time, men or women who don’t like the shape of their neck, or are concerned by the gradual drooping of their neck, can have a correction that is virtually scar free, under local anaesthetic and with a short recovery.
iGuide® Risks and Complications
After an iGuide® Neck Lift, its conservative recovery time is just 48 hours, bruising is moderate, and scarring incredibly minimal. The procedure only requires small puncture wounds which easily heal.
Very few complications arise with this procedure. Rarely the suture will break at an early stage, and will need to be redone. Infection will always be a risk with a surgical procedure but our dedicated team will provide you with sufficient aftercare and advice in order to encourage rapid healing.
