At Mapperly Park we do anti-aging treatments. This is an umbrella term and covers lots of different treatments basically. And it can be anything from removal of little brown age spots on the face and hands to removal of lesions such as seborrheic keratoses and other things that make the skin look old, also removal of thread red veins from the face because that has an aging effect.
But very often it is smoothing of skin, it’s reduction of lines and wrinkles that people are looking for, and a general sort of lift, tightening and overall rejuvenation of the face. So when people come to us, we spend quite a looking at the face and assessing what it is that particularly bothers the client.
Very, very common one are lipstick bleed lines, and smile lines around the eyes. injection of Botulinum toxin and filler and things is ideal for the upper face. Generally speaking, for lower face, you are looking more at laser and light-based treatments. And there are amazing things we can do now, particularly with carbon dioxide lasers, to reduce and really kind of firm up top lips and things and to start reprime and radio frequency to really lift and tighten the lower face.
Over the counter it’s difficult to buy skin creams and cosmetics and things that actually do anything to your skin. Most of them don’t have a great deal of active ingredient, so I specialize in selling what I call medicine for the skin and skinceuticals and the skin products that really have a physiological effect on the skin and really reverse signs of aging are very, very useful.
