‘Fun’ Over ‘Fake’ – What Men REALLY Want!
MyFaceMyBody Reveals The UKs Best Kept Beauty Secrets
The Sky TV cosmetic surgery and healthy lifestyle show, MyFaceMyBody, reveals what men really think of their girlfriend’s treatments.
The MyFaceMyBody team has travelled the length and breadth of the UK to bring to TV the very latest cosmetic and beauty treatments on offer. For episode 1, screening on Sky 166 and Freesat 402 Sunday 8pm, they visited Edinburgh, Glasgow, Preston, Herford, Liverpool and Wakefield.
A survey compiled in these towns and cities found that:
78% of all men interviewed said they liked seeing big boobs on celebrities but would HATE their girlfriends to have a fake inflated chest.
24% of Liverpool men thought fake tan was awful, but 56% of men in other places said they thought the “Tango” look was too fake and looked bad.
70% of Scottish men agreed that more woman should have liposuction and other weight loss procedures but only 18% would have the procedure themselves!
55% of northern men said they preferred a girlfriend who was “funny” and “fun” rather than “glamorous” and “high maintenance”. 35% thought that Cheryl Cole would be a pain to date because of her beauty routines. Luckily for the Girls Aloud singer 73% of men said they would date her if she asked!
Stephen Handisides, presenter and cosmetic surgery expert, said: “It seems that men’s attitudes are changing. It wasn’t long ago when they drooled over celebrities such as Pamela Anderson and Abi Titmuss who were well endowed and flaunted it. Now, men are wanting their ladies to be more subtle in their dress and appearance.
“Men are now valuing a partner who they can relax at home with and share fun, rather than going out to restaurants and showing off the latest outfits.
“The new attitude fits in with what’s happening in the economy, where people are being less ostentatious and feel uncomfortable showing off their wealth when many people are being made redundant.
“This is reflected in the clinics where they’re seeing people wanting treatments such as teeth straightening rather than breast enlargement.”
MyFaceMyBody spoke to 60 men – 10 in each city. The show was launched by cosmetic surgery expert and former male model Stephen Handisides and will air on Sky TV on Tuesdays at 7.30pm and be repeated on Sundays at 8pm. Sky 166 and Freesat 402.
