Pre-Wedding procedures for your Big Day
Pre-Wedding procedures for your Big Day
Weddings are hot at the moment thanks to the Royal Wedding: if you’re about to marry your prince charming and want to put your best Cinderella glass slipper forward there are a variety of procedures that will ensure you look your very best when all eyes are upon you on the Big Day. The three most popular pre-wedding procedures are: Botox, breast augmentation and liposuction.
Botox
How does it work?
In the 21st century women are less in a rush to get married than they were in previous generations. This means they could be on their second or third marriages and at a later stage in life. Consequently nature could benefit with a surgeon’s helping hand. Botox a muscle relaxant is injected into superficial and deep frown lines. It acts by blocking signals from the brain that cause the muscle fibres to contract and halts muscle contraction thus preventing and softening existing lines and wrinkles.
Outcome/expectations
This non-invasive treatment has minimal down-time but it is advisable to have Botox at least a month in advance of the wedding to allow any mild swelling to subside. Good results can be attained after the first treatment but it can take a few days for the Botox to take its full effect. Botox on average lasts from three to six months. The desired result will lead to you looking: alert, rejuvenated, younger and appropriately cherubic ready to face the photos and showers of confetti. Now looking one’s Royal best is no longer the preserve of the monarchy – as cosmetic surgery is available to everyone.

Breast Augmentation
How does it work?
Also known as breast implants to increase the size of the cleavage. An incision is made underneath the breast and an implant such as a rubber silicone sac that is normally filled with saline fluid or silicone gel is placed under or over the breast muscle. The silicone gel is the most widely used implant substance and has been in use longer than any other type of implant.
Outcome/expectations
To avoid “buyer’s remorse” it is recommended to get this operation done at least six moths prior to the wedding to allow the area to heal and settle. A patient may resume her normal activities within seven to ten days but should avoid demanding exercise for at least three weeks afterwards. Then you can fit confidently into your dress, proudly showing off your new assets, feeling feminine and attractive as you walk down the aisle.

Liposuction
How does it work?
If you’re finding it a trial shifting your last few pounds to fit into you wedding gown or post-pregnancy want a “Yummy Mummy Tummy” liposuction can address this problem. Liposuction works by targeting fat deposits which affect many parts of the body including the stomach, buttocks, thighs, hips, arms and neck. A slim hollow cannula is inserted through a tiny incision into the skin and is attached to a suction machine which vacuums out the unwanted fat.
Outcome/expectations
This treatment is most effective in patients under the age of forty-five whose skin has more elasticity than older patients. Pressurised bandages are normally worn for up to a week afterwards and part time for a month. Following the procedure the area will be numb but this numbness should disappear within six to eight weeks, although it can take up to three to six months before the full benefits can be seen. For this reason it is wise to book this treatment at least eight months prior to the nuptials to allow for any anomalies and so you will be a perfect fit for your dress. Interestingly it seems that not to be out done by his wife-to-be the groom is also on a quest to look his best on the special day. It is no secret that male elective surgery is on the rise. Top of the groom’s wish list is liposuction for the stomach or the neck giving a sleeker, contoured look. This means while he gains a wife he may also gain the Royal seal of approval!
