Lady GaGa’s Hair’s Falling Out! Don’t Worry GaGa – We Have A Solution!
Lady GaGa has revealed she has dyed her hair so much that it is falling out. The Poker Face singer has spent years dyeing her brunette locks peroxide blonde and now she’s paying the price.
This affects more women than you might imagine. Women wearing hair up, braided, or scraped into a tight pony-tail can also develop hair loss problems. With a condition called ‘traction alopecia’ the hair literally gets tugged out of the follicle in the scalp.
Do women have hairloss treatments or are they just for men? Yes! Hairloss surgery is for either sex.
During hair replacement treatment, the donor hair is removed from an appropriate area of skin (usually at the back of the head) with a scalpel. A crescent-shaped strip around 20cm long by about 6mm in width will be removed then staples or stitches are used to close the wound. Once the donor tissue is collected, the skin is then grafted onto the skin. This process can take many hours, depending on the number of grafts required.
Surgery is now much more advanced than in the past. The latest treatments include FUE (Follicular Unit Extraction) which is often called the scar-less treatment as well as Third Generation Micrografting.
With FUE, a specialised punch of less than 1mm diameter is used to extract the hair from the scalp. The main advantage with this technique is that follicular units are extracted directly from the scalp rather than in a strip or large groups, which removes the need for scalpels and stitches. It is therefore considerably less invasive. It does not leave the patient with a permanent linear scar on the back of the head because we do not remove a strip of skin from the back of the head.
